Lime Scooters Return to Redmond
March 1, 2020
Lime is officially coming back to Redmond on Sunday, March 1
As the winter months come to an end, between 100 to 200 scooters will be available citywide, returning affordable access to sustainable, convenient mobility options for Redmond residents, workers and visitors alike.
2019 was a banner year for Lime Redmond. Thanks to our riders, Lime Redmond hit the following milestones:
- 17,000 unique riders (or the equivalent of 1/4 of the population of Redmond) rode a scooter in Redmond in less than 6 months of operation
- 30.9% of riders report their last scooter trip replaced a car trip
- This means that Redmond scooter riders took 21,057 miles of car travel off Redmond roads (reduced VMT, out of 68,000+ total scooter miles in Redmond)
- Over 60% of trips involved a connection to or from work
- Over 13% of trips involve a connection to public transit
We expect to surpass those milestones in 2020 with the addition of some new features including:
- Group Ride - allows riders to unlock up to five electric scooters on the same host account.
- LimePass - a weekly subscription pass that offers unlimited free scooter unlocks (a $1 savings per ride) for seven consecutive days. the subscription can pay for itself in as little as 2-3 days.
