Help improve Eastside to Seattle transit on SR-520
Metro and Sound Transit are reaching out to transit riders and communities to get input on transit service in the State Route 520 corridor. We’d like to know how people are using today’s service and what they think about it. This input will help us develop ideas for improvements, including ways to connect riders with light rail service at the University of Washington. We’ll share these ideas in a second round of outreach later this spring and ask for feedback on them.

Background
Options for connecting Eastside bus service to Link light rail were included in the first phase of University Link Connections outreach in 2015. In coordination with riders and stakeholders, Metro and Sound Transit decided to hold a separate process with Eastside communities after Link service to the University of Washington was underway. Both agencies will reach out to Eastside riders, stakeholders, and residents throughout 2017 for input about potential service improvements along the SR-520 corridor.
Metro and Sound Transit are also partners with the City of Seattle and Downtown Seattle Association in a joint One Center City effort. They’re looking at ways to keep people who commute to downtown Seattle from across the region moving as growth continues and major transportation projects move forward. One Center City will develop recommended strategies for further exploration and approval, including transit service restructuring and street and traffic improvements.
