Check out how your trips helped increase community mobility in Redmond.
Go Redmond’s “Commute for a Cause” was a huge success with over 68,000 non-drive alone trips logged in February, far exceeding their goal of 43,000 trips.
As a result, almost 10,000 bus trips will be donated to Redmond community members in need, to be provided through local non-profits:

Child Care Resources Homeless Child Care ProgramProvides child care subsidies to Redmond families. Bus tickets will be distributed to parents in the program to support their efforts to end their homeless experience (i.e., travel to and from child care, attend appointments, look for housing and jobs). Trips = 500 |
Congregations for the HomelessProvide shelter, day center services and outreach services to homeless men on the Eastside. Bus tickets will enable clients to access to shelter, jobs, interviews, service appointments, food, and other assistance. Trips = 560 |

Chinese Information and Service Center Cultural Navigator ProgramProgram that helps immigrants and refugees find and access critical services. Clients will use bus passes and ORCA for traveling to work, job interviews, medical appointments, and/or going to food banks or the library to do job search. Trips = 400 |
Friends of YouthOffers crisis response services for homeless youth and young adults in King County. Bus tickets are a lifeline to jobs, education and family for our clients, who range in age from 12 to 24. Trips = 800 |

HERO HouseHelps people with mental illness in King County get jobs and live independent lives. Tickets will allow members access to their recovery at HERO House as well as the ability to get to their place of employment. Trips = 125 |

LifeWireAn organization that serves and supports individuals and families as they work toward recovering from the impact of domestic violence. An adult survivor living in emergency shelter could receive an ORCA card to help search for stable housing or a pass with sufficient funds would help a survivor commute to work each day. Trips = 500 trips |

YWCA Redmond Family VillageTransitional housing for homeless families in Redmond. Provide transportation options for families currently residing at Family Village as well as other community members in need. Trained staff will be able to register community members for the ORCA reduced rate cards. Trips = 6,776 |
