Chinese President to Visit Redmond: Expect Traffic Delays
Wednesday will be a great day to ride the bus or telework if you travel to Overlake.
Commuters should expect temporary road closures, transit delays, and an increased security presence in and around the locations where the Chinese President Xi Jinping visits the Seattle area.
On Wednesday afternoon the President's visit will include a trip to Microsoft's Main Campus in Overlake which will cause significant traffic disruption and congestion around the Microsoft campus tomorrow afternoon. Expect delays, and if possible, please avoid the area.
Due to security concerns, the specifics regarding the time frame and routes is unavailable.
If you have the option to telework, share the ride, or get off the road altogether by biking or walking, this would be a great day to do so!
Additional back ups may come from a Sounders game on Wednesday evening.
