How to Pay to Ride the 2 Line
Here's how to pay to ride light rail on the eastside starting April 27th.
The 2 Line officially opens on April 27th and we couldn't be more excited!
There will be eight stations from South Bellevue to Redmond Technology in Overlake. 2 Line trains will run every 10 minutes from 5:30am to 9:30pm, seven days a week.
Ways to Pay
The easiest way to pay for your ride is with an ORCA card. If you don't have one already, you can purchase at a ticket machine. There are one-way, return, or all day rail tickets available for purchase. Ticket machines accept cash and credit/debit cards. You can also purchase tickets on your phone with the Transit GO ticket app.
Reduced Fare Options
- ORCA LIFT is a reduced fare program. Income-qualified riders can save up to 60% of the cost of a standard fare ORCA card. Eligibility is based on your household income. You find out more information and apply for ORCA LIFT here.
- Youth ORCA cards are free for customers between the ages of 6-18 years old. You can order your free youth ORCA card here. You will need to upload a copy of your K-12 student ID, state ID, driver’s license, birth certificate or passport to confirm your age.
- Regional Reduced Fare Permit (RRFP) simplifies travel for seniors and riders with disabilities around Puget Sound. Any eligible person may apply for an RRFP card on our Reduced Fare Portal or at an ORCA customer service office. Senior RRFP cards can also be obtained through mail. You can apply here.
There is a lot of information to process about ORCA cards and which card fits your needs. If you still have questions you can take a brief questionnaire that can help you to figure it out.
